After this whole project, we were able to put on an outstanding exhibition and present it to parents, teachers and guests. We all put in a lot of dedication and effort into this whole project which came out so beautifully. We decided to be different and not only present an exhibition of our project but we also did it out of school at the New Arts Museum, which blew people's minds away. It was split up in to many different sections.
1st Section: Shinpei Takeda's Wall 2nd Section: Our stencils and our musical crankies 3rd Section: Our Writing Process 4th Section: Our musical bands Shinpei Takeda, an inspirational and creative man, spent many weeks working on an art piece to represent "Arrival" which was an art piece that incorporated our 50 word mini paragraph symbolizing our personal arrival with the American Dream, and also, our life in general. Along with the beautiful art work Shinpei exhibited at our exhibition, we ourselves created our OWN art piece for the the person whom we interviewed. We spent a lot of time drawing and cutting out stencils to show this person's life story by using art, not only drawing, but performing an amazing song as well. Despite some of the hard parts of this project, such as the work load and the crunch time, I'm more than positive that all of my classmates and my special teacher Joanne Smith, are as proud as I am to have put on a mind blowing exhibition. Our creative minds were able to come together as one and work effectively to put on such an amazing end piece. There are no words to describe how astonishing it was to see everyone come together, our interviewees, our families, our class and our school. It was a wonderful experience that I would not trade for the world. |

Before being given the opportunity to learn more and more about the American Dream, I was naive to think that we live in a world of support. I thought anyone's dream could be achieved because we would have the support of our economy. But I was more than wrong. It is sad to know that today's day in age, the rich are getting richer, while the poor stay poor. I now realized that I have to do my part and strive my very best to get to success. Not only do that, but to help all of the other minorities to get there as well. I will be the helping hand, and help others make their own definition of the American Dream, come true.
