Building Process: - We first measured out how much would we would need. Once we got the wood all figured out, we simply glued synthetic grass to the wood. We added borders and drilled them into our hole and then we used felt to give it a nice finish. After out hole was done, we each did our individual obstacles that represented in event in history.
Obstacles: - The first obstacle on our hole was water representing the submarine warfare used to attack enemies in World War One. The second obstacle was a trench representing a method of fighting and defending territory that the soldiers used. The third obstacle was a box with 5% cut out representing the amount of people who died from the 1918 Flu Pandemic. Then, we had yellow cotton balls representing Mustard Gas which was used to kill people inside of the trenches. Last but not least, we had blockades which represented how hard it was to transport food across the seas.
Humanities: - In Humanities class, we first put into a group with 3-5 people and we were told to pick a topic from history of whatever we chose. Our group chose World War One because that was the topic we were most interested in. After we chose our topic, each and every one of us had to find an event that happened in World War One and right and essay about it (individually). We then had to talk to our group and create and obstacle that represented the topic we wrote about in our essay. I wrote about the Flu Pandemic, so I created a box with 5% cut out representing the amount of people who died from the flu.
Math: - In our Math class, we first designed how we wanted our hole to look and measured how long it would be. Our group continue to mess up on this part until we finally got the perfect hole. We weren't sure if we were going to be able to do it because it had so many different angles but we did. We also did cheap shots using the line of reflection, slope, straight line method and isosceles triangle method. It was a struggle trying to figure out how we were going to hit the ball and make it in the hole using math. But with the help of Roberto, I was able to create a beautiful blueprint.
Multimedia: - In Multimedia class, we first used Photoshop to create our own golf logos, we had to make four different ones. They could be anything that we wanted and we were told to get them peer critiqued to narrow it down to ONE logo that we would put all over class. After we did this, we voted and whichever logo won, was the one that would be used. My group and I spent a lot of time making the Snack Shack for the 19th hole. It took a lot of time, but it came out amazing.
Exhibition: - Exhibition was a very fun experience. It was amazing seeing how excited the parents and children were to start from Hole 1, and golf all the way to the 19th Hole. Explaining to the parents the process that we had to go through gave me joy because each and every one of us put in so much work and it was just a wonderful experience that I could never forget!
